Yes, they would prescribe an antibiotic. I can't remember which they gave to me and my fiance but it was anti-MRSA resistant antibiotic. Starts with a C (Maybe Clindomycin)

Well, fortunately for you you won't have the scarring that my fiance did. He refused the daily packing (which I gritted out) and his scar on his thigh is approx the size of a silver dollar where as mine is the size of miniscule cut. But I can still remember the daily pain and horror I withstood at the doctors office every morning at 0700 sharp. Staph infections (if that was/is what your experiencing) is a bit more complicated. Certain precautions are important. Staph can be spread all throughout your household. i.e. razors, towels, countertops, etc...

The fiance and I believe we picked it up at a 2 star hotel. We went awya for a quick beach vacation right after Spring break. Such a bad idea in hind sight.

Nonetheless, I scoured my house as best I could to ensure I didn't have anything ready to attack. :) I bought disposable razors, Washed the hell out of all of my towels and linens, Bleached my counterrops and floors, etc... It tooks months for me to feel safe again however we haven't had any worries for the past 6 months in reality.

I'm not very well read in all the naturalistic/homeopathic remedies. But the fella above offered an idea for your nose.

Best of luck to you.

After reading onward I am willing to bet you had a Staph infection with the new MRSA strain. I have had it and so did my bf. It's viscious and I am sure by now you have sought out medical attention as I know the pain was unbareable. Been there. The packing of an infection such as that is probably the worst part of the healing process. Be sure to follow medical advice because if it heals from the bottom up you're better off. But if you can't withsatnd the pain of packing you may avoid the doctor all together and risk a reoccurring out break. If it is MRSA you'll also need to kill off the bacteria in your nasal cavities. Yup, that's where it hides. MRSA emerged from overuse of antibiotics.

My bf says to say..."hope it doesn't leave a big scar". His did.

If it is an imflamed folicle boil water and apply compresses as hot as you can stand. After you have "cooked it" then apply a bandaid with teatree oil to work into the infection.

If it is a spider bite... make a paste of bentonite clay moistened with echinacea tincture and lavender essential oil. again bandaid it on soit can draw out the poisen.
