'Pe min kan wan' (a chinese patent medicine, google it) may avail you in this situation.

i have used colloidal silver, laying on my side, and leaving it in the ear for 10 or 15 minutes.

a dilution of hydrogen peroxide may be helpful.

rubbing pure sandalwood oil around (around, NOT in) the ear, gently massaging in, can be helpful. just don't get it in the ear.

garlic oil in the ear can do the trick

you cut up a few cloves of garlic into chunks, toss them in some olive oil, then heat it on minimum for about 1/2 an hour.
strain out all the garlic, then get someone to put a few drops of the oil in each ear while you lie on your side. I use a cotton ball to catch the drips.
It feels weird but it's worked for me in the past.

(then, if you have garlic oil left over, sautee/toast some pecans in it and add it to a salad. YUM)

Hope you feel better. There's something special about ear pain :(

ditto on the garlic oil; also mullwin flower oil infusion is wonderful.

my daughter got a lot of war pain and I used to have bad ear infections pretty regalrly as a chld too. my mother recmmended my grandm's old remedy; heat up salt (preferably xoarse kosher, rock, or sea salt) in a pan in the ove,, then pour it into a cotton sock and use the sock as a warm ear compress. the salt retains the heat and the salinity in the ear canal seems to work. Mke Lenoir MD, who does a health programon KPFA recommends this old home remedy too.

I;ve found strong echinacea tincture taken internally outstanding for fighting bacterial ear infections - I take the drops throughout the day, but n less thn four times a day, and keep them up for three days after the symptoms start to subside (just like you would with penicillin.) be sure it;s made from good qulity root - any echinacea produt that is going to work will lve a sort of cool, tingly feeling on your ips or tongue if you taste just a little. no tingle, it;s not much good. I also don;t mess with the "whole plant" forms that include the flowers and stems except maybe as a tnic when someone is NOT acutely ill but wants to boost immunity; it;s the roots that have the most powerful medicine.

some herbalists pack the wears with usnea, a lichen, to help heal an ear infection.

keep your ears warm and avoid dairy foods until it;s over; there is something about cows milk protein in particular that seems to irritate the immune system in a way that affects the ears, even if you are nt truly allergic. warm vegetable broth and foods that are high n Vitamin A (dark leafy greens, carrots, sweet potatoes) seem especially healing fr ear inections. watch the sweets!

            good luck.

              OOPS, annoying typos!!!

EAR problems not "war problems" (which are way worse, hehe..)

and MULLEIN not "mullwin" whatever that is.

I'm getting over some stealthy cold or maybe even a mild case of flu, probably shouldn't be trying to type like this...

i just had a pretty severe ear infection also. i found a garlic/ mullein oil tincture at the health market. also, about 1/3 of a cap of hydrogen peroxide poured directly into the ear seemed to help the most, pain-wise anyway. lastly, i heard but did not try, slice an onion in half and put it in the mircowave or oven til hot, then use is as a hot press against your ear. best luck ..
