IUDs are only for women who already have children, i have never had a child in my life so no doctor wouldnt give me an IUD. i am hearing women who never had kids are getting an IUD, but i don't know what kind of IUD they are getting.

wow, there's something wrong with your doctor. The IUD is quite common and the new ones that have been out for the past few years get rave reviews. they are NOT restricted to those who already have children. Are you sure you're not confusing IUD with Essure? Essure is permanent, IUD can be removed by your doctor and there are two types. Take a look at the Planned Parenthood website, it's filled with really good info on the options, side effects, etc having to do with IUD's, hormonal methods, etc, etc.

If people were truly interested in the well being of this planet, men would have the procedure and simply cryo their sperm. Unfortunately, many women also have terrible problems with IUDs. My husband had a vasectomy. It's a weird thing, but the procedure and recovery were very easy, especially compared with a tubal ligation, not to mention pregnancy/childbirth/breastfeeding and all of that. Part of me wants humanity to figure out all of this stuff conclusively, and part of me feels like it's so unnatural to tinker with a basic function of health that I don't want to think about it too much... I feel lucky to be in a committed relationship with a man who was happy to take the V-plunge. We've both been especially glad ever since he did it ;)

Ive never heard of anything that is guaranteed to work, nothing 100% minus the knife. IUDs many women find helpful.
