I got a lot of info from a recent thread on here that talked a lot about a systemic yeast infection, but what I've been (apparently) having is an external one... I was diagnosed with that by the doc, and she gave me Clotrimazole to apply topically for one week. However, it didn't go away. I was told to stop using that cream, since you're not supposed to use it for longer than a week... tried bathing in apple cider vinegar, using yogurt, didn't work. Then an acupuncurist gave me some Chinese herbs to take internally, as well as some differnet ones to bath in as a sit bath. I couldn't tell you which herbs they were; they were specially formulated for me... anyway, those did work, but now as soon as I've gone off of them I'm starting to show symptoms again.
Does anyone think this could be something other than a yeast infection, even though the doc didn't see anything when she tested me? What can you do for chronic infections like this?
Thanks.

Re: external yeast infection
Tue, August 18, 2009 - 11:32 AMYes, i have cronic external yeast infections. Mine are due to my sugar going up and down, i'm a diabetic and trying very hard to get it in line. Have you been checked to rule out being diabetic? but one of the best things i can tell you is to use the over the counter store brand Miconazole Nitrate (4%) vaginal cream (you rub this on) and probiotic acidophilus (you take this internally) at the same time. i start out with 2 capsules in the morning then one at lunch time and one at night with the cream also at night (the first day). Than you can just take one at a time. After the time (3 to 7 days) if it's not gone ask your Dr for diflucan and explain that this has been an ongoing condition. Once my Dr gave me a supply of the diflucan as he believed that my body was thinking that this was it's normal state and this would break the cycle.
i really hope this helps!
safe journeys

Re: external yeast infection
Tue, August 18, 2009 - 2:46 PMyou may want to check into using colloidal silver and zinc externally (as well as drink it), and perhaps make a triphala paste to wash the body with. let it sit on a few minutes, rubbing very gently. Triphala is 3 types of myrobalan fruit powdered and mixed together. It is available at better herb stores, nutrition centers, or on the net. those probiotics are good. i might suggest learning to make kombucha tea to drink for awhile..
for fluxing blood sugars, i might suggest colloidal vanadium, chromium, and zinc.
happy thots! -

Re: external yeast infection
Tue, August 18, 2009 - 3:34 PMIt's ok to use this cream, even after I've already used another cream? I was told that you really can't use too many of those strong drug store creams, as they could cause more irritation... but then again, I have to do something. -

Re: external yeast infection
Tue, August 18, 2009 - 7:30 PMgoogle colloidal silver and zinc. it gives a few companies to choose from. Water Oz is nice.
my own brand of silver i highly reccomend of course, :)
but it will then come as a water solution, so it can be put in a spray bottle and simply rubbed in. colloidals are suspended in water, no thick creams or such are needed. silver should be stored out of direct light.
